Being Born Again

Jesus made a very interesting statement in John’s Gospel:

“Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
John 3:3

These are puzzling words. We cannot be true followers of Christ unless we are born again.

Nicodemus, one of the religious leaders at the time, replied to Jesus:

“How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?”

You have probably heard Christians referred to as ‘born again’, but what does that actually mean? When we encounter Jesus for real, it is without doubt a life-changing experience. Being ‘born again’ is simply speaking of a new life in the Lord Jesus Christ.
